Aunty Carol's Chocolate Cherry Muffins

Lovely, fluffy chocolate cherry muffins topped with cherry halves melt in your mouth. The Greek yogurt keeps these muffins insanely moist for days! The fresh sweet cherries and dark chocolate chips pair so beautifully together in this tasty bakery style muffin.

Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 Tablespoon
  • 1 Teaspoon
  • 1 Mixing Spoon or Mixer
  • 1 measuring cup

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • ¼ Tsp Salt
  • 1 Cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • ¾ Cup Water
  • ½ Cup Butter
  • Tsp Baking Soda
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Cup Quartered Fresh Cherries
  • 1 Cup Dark Chocolate Chips

Instructions
 

  • In your mixing bowl blend the butter and sugar together.
  • Add in the eggs and sour cream.
  • Mixing well add in the cocoa powder.
  • Add in the other dry ingredients and start to mix.
  • While mixing slowly add the water in as you go.
  • When everything is combined add in the cherries and chocolate chips.
  • Blend just enough to evenly distribute the cherries and chips.
  • Fill prepared muffin tins to full.
  • Top each muffin with half a cherry in the center.
  • Bake muffins for 25-30 minutes in a 350℉ oven. Test for done and remove from oven.
  • Allow to thoroughly cool before removing from pan.
  • Muffins will last for up to four days if stored covered.
