Wassail Soft Fruit Cookies For the Christmas Season

These delectable spiced cookies are full of great wassail flavor and bits of apple. Iced with a sweet apple cider icing the soft cookie is a magical holiday cookie the whole family will love. Be sure to bake extra they are going to be gobbled up in no time!

Wassail Soft Fruit Cookie 2 ½ Cups Flour 1 tsp Cinnamon ½ tsp Cloves ½ tsp Nutmeg ¼ tsp Allspice ½ tsp Salt 1 Cup Salted Butter ¾ Cup White Sugar 1 Lrg Egg 1 tsp Vanilla 2 Tbsp Orange Zest 1 Apple Chopping into small pieces Apple Cider Icing 1 Cup Icing Sugar 2 Tbsp Orange Juice 2 Tbsp Apple Cider ½ tsp Cinnamon ¼ tsp Nutmeg
Wassail Soft Cookie Dough/Baking In the mixing bowl cream butter and sugar together.
Add in the egg blend well.
Measure all dry ingredients into the same mixing bowl and blend well.
Chop apple into small pieces.
Add apple pieces and orange zest to cookie dough.
Mix gently and only enough to distribute the apple pieces into the cookie dough evenly.
Drop by spoonful onto cookie sheet. For more uniform cookies gently press edges to make rounder.
Bake in preheated 350℉ oven for 10-12 minutes.
Remove from heat to wire rack and let cooll.
Icing the Cookies Drizzle the apple cider icing off the end of a spoon onto the slightly warm cookies.
Start in the center of the cookie as the icing will drizzle outwards.
Let cookie icing dry and then serve.
