In your mixing bowl cream together sugar and softened butter.
Mix in the whole egg blending well.
Add all the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture except the Taro and Blue Pea Flower Powders.
Divide dough equally in half.
Put half in the other mixing bowl. Add into one the Taro powder until well blended.
In the other half the dough mix in the Blue Pea Flower Powder.
If you find that either is too dry add a tiny bit more butter to the dough.
Lightly flour your table/counter surface.
With a rolling pin roll each dough into a rectangle or as close as possible to it. Make sure each rectangle is the same size.
Carefully lift and lay one color on top of the other.
Taking the dough by the edge closest to you roll it together into a log.
Put the log of cookie dough in a tightly wrapped piece of saran or parchment. Put in fridge to chill for one hour.
The chilling is important so it will slice nicely.
Remove after chilling and slice with knife into equal thickness. Not overly thin and not overly thick.. Think the thickness of an Oreo cookie.
The cookies may not be perfectly round or even touching dough on dough. However they will spread as they bake and close in any small gaps.
Place cookies evenly apart on prepared cookie sheet.
Bake at 350℉ for approximately 9-12 minutes. The cookies will have slight brown edge when finished.
