Jerk Chicken Jamaican Patties In The Ninja Foodi Air Fryer

This simple jerk chicken Jamaican patties recipe is deliciously flaky hot from the air fryer. You can also bake this savory chicken hand held patties in the oven. Either way you are in for a flavorful taste of the Caribbean with jerk sauced chicken thighs in a rich buttery pastry shell.
In a large mixing bowl. Add the flour, sugar, salt and turmeric.
4 Cups Flour, 2 Tbsp White Sugar, ½ Tsp Salt, 2 Tsp Turmeric Powder
Add the cold butter and using a pastry knife blend well. The mixture should look like coarse crumbs.
1¾ Cup Cold Salted Butter
Add in the ice water and knead the dough. Turn onto flour surface to continue kneading until it forms a ball.

Using rolling pin roll the dough 1/4-1/8" thick.
Using small 8" diameter bowl press out 10 circles of pastry dough. Two can be set aside for later use. Freeze up to 3 months or wrap in plastic in fridge.
The Chicken Thigh Filling
In a preheated pan add the olive oil and the boneless skinless chicken once chopped.
Saute for two minutes and then measure and add the jerk sauce.
3 Tbsp Jerk Sauce (Graces)
Continue to cook until meat is no longer pink. Approximately six minutes.
Remove from heat and add the meat mixture to food processor.
Chop on chop setting until it resembles coarse cooked burger meat.
Remove to the work surface and measure onto each patties round two heaping tablespoons of the meat mixture.
The mixture should be offset to one side of the circle of dough. Leaving a ¼" of space near the edge.
Using a little cold water to stick the sides together. Fold over the empty portion of the dough and press down with tines of fork.
Cooking The Jamaican Patties Ninja Foodi
Place two at a time in the air fryer baskets of the Ninja Foodi. Set to bake for 20 minutes at 400℉ Since there are eight to bake this means doing two batches if cooking all at one time.
Halfway through bake pause and flip the patties. Continue to end of cycle and serve while hot or keep warm in warm oven until ready to eat.
Oven Method Baking Patties
Bake on a baking tray.
Set oven to 375℉ Bake for 25-30 minutes flipping halfway through the bake time.
