Read as much as you can before starting it’s a long slow road to growth and can be rather expensive.

I am not making any money as yet from my blog and am just working on it as a side hobby at the moment as I learn and grow.

I recommend Pinch of Yum’s Food Blogger group as a starting place. The cost is kind of high but it’s very helpful.

Free resources like Facebook’s Food Blogger’s Central are a great place to read and lurk to learn information.

Plus there are many great YouTuber’s with years of experience to follow.

Food blogging is super competitive so deciding on a focus is key to developing a following.

For me I like to focus on family recipes with a splish of vintage/old-fashioned and a splash of cooking cheap budget friendly foods.

You can easily print off any recipe from my recipe cards. If you don’t have a printer saving them is the next best thing.

Once my recipes are posted I acknowledge they are free game. I hope that by sharing a wide variety of new and exciting recipes you will continue to come back often to see what’s been cooking.

Aside from Google and ranking well there which has been up and down for a lot of bloggers this past year  I recommend focusing on Pinterest.

It’s still the easiest to grow with a good a strategy in place you have double your traffic. In fact as a full-time Pinterest manager I recommend this platform over and over to people. I have been a personal user of platform for since its inception and can’t rave about it enough.

If you are interested in discussing how Pinterest can work for  you please reach out via my site, charmingpen.com

I have found that in order to grow on other platforms like IG and FB it’s hit or miss. You need a strategy and knowledge and even then it’s a harder road for growth.

Flipboards is also a good place to share your posts although I am not sure how much traffic I get through that platform I just add my posts when I publish them as one last additional step.

I see that Bluesky is gaining ground over X and it likely will be my next step for added growth. Getting in on the ground floor of any platform is better to ensure legacy growth.

Currently my focus is on growth and not sending more mail to your inbox. However if you wish to follow please do sign up using the Grow form found on all the blog posts.

This will keep you informed of new recipes that are published.

Please use the comment section or the contact me page to ask any questions you have about a recipe.

I always try to respond in a timely fashion so that you aren’t waiting long.

You may use any of my photos for your site with the stipulation that attribution is added to the image. (Cents For Cookery.com)
